Mindful Miri Podcast
You’re not just a woman. You’re a force.
Welcome to Mindful Miri—the podcast for women who are raising hell, crafting the lives of their dreams, and doing their best to stay intentional every step of the way.
Hosted by Miriam Burlakovsky, mental health practitioner, mindfulness teacher, and mama who gets it, we dive into raw, real conversations about ambition, gender roles, burnout, body image, boundaries, breaking generational cycles, and more.
It’s where soul meets strategy. Sass meets science. Mindfulness meets making sh*t happen.
And through it all, we’re here to build you up, shatter those ceilings, and remind you: you are not alone.
If you’re done dimming your sparkle and ready to claim your power, your purpose, and your pleasure—this is your space.
✨ Come for the real talk. Stay for the mindful revolution.

✨ Before You Go…
If this episode spoke to you—even in a small way—would you take 10 seconds to share it?
With just one woman. One friend. One person who might need to feel a little less alone in her struggle.
Tell her what resonated for you. Ask what landed for her.
Because when we share what moves us, we create deeper connection—with others and with ourselves.

This is a recess, reset meditation, just for teachers. Take a deep breath in, hold and a long, loud, exhale out. Find a seated or lying down posture, get comfy, making sure that the back is straight, get relaxed, move side to side, front and back, until you feel comfortable and supported by the points of contact between you and the ground, the mat, the chair, the backrest. Begin to breathe deeply, noticing those points of contact, breathing in for four, holding for seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. And now breathing out slowly for eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Again inhaling for four, three, two, one. Hold for seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Exhale eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Last time inhale for four, three, two, one. Hold for seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Exhale for eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two and one. Very nice.
Speaker 1:Now I'd like you to bring up the memory or the image of someone or some creature that brings you unconditional love and joy. It could be a picture of a kitten or a puppy, it could be an animal at home, a child, someone where you can bring up the vision and have no conflicting feelings, just love overflowing. Once you have that, place your right hand over your heart and just allow it to warm and fill up with joy. Allow the love to overflow. Imagine if it's a child, laughing, getting giddy. If it's a pet, imagine scratching their belly or feeling their soft fur and just filling up with warmth and joy and love for this amazing creature. Feel the love that they feel for you being sent back. Feel the warmth under that hand covering your heart. Begin to imagine it as a color or a texture. It's overflowing in your heart, reaching every corner of your body. Imagine it as a beautiful fuchsia, a cerulean blue, aquamarine, green or whatever beautiful color comes to mind. Imagine it permeating all of your body and now gently, slowly infusing the air around you with this warmth and love and joy.
Speaker 1:Imagine yourself walking to your line after recess or opening your classroom door to greet the children. Imagine this colorful, joy-filled energy staying with you being just what the kids need to feel, calm and at peace as they enter your classroom. Imagine them walking in one by one. You're greeting them at the door, saying I'm so happy to see you, I'm so lucky you're here, I'm so lucky to be your teacher. Imagine it wafting through the classroom, swirling around each student one by one, bringing them joy and peace and safety. Imagine the impact that you are making on their hearts. Imagine them thinking to themselves you're my favorite teacher ever. I can't wait to learn from you.
Speaker 1:Imagine them sitting at their desks or standing at the desks and fidgeting whatever they need to be able to learn. They have all the tools they need. You have all the tools you need to teach them and you know just how they learn best. You've known them now for a bit of time and you know how successful they can be.
Speaker 1:Each and every child in that classroom is learning, is benefiting from your guidance, from your training, from your experience, from your love and joy and peace. And that goodness flows out of you, wafting throughout the classroom, swirling around each student, swirling around you and you seeing your impact on every student every day, in every way. Then coming to the end of the day, releasing your class, sitting back in your office chair, placing your right hand over your heart and just reveling in the meaning, in the love that you have brought these kids today. Every day, in every way, you are finding new ways to tap into and unlock their potential. Every day, in every way, you're taking great care of yourself and, as you do. You bring joy, peace, love and learning to every student. Begin to bring your awareness back into your body. Wiggle the toes and fingers, flood the eyes, open and go take your bathroom break before you bring those kids inside and make their day.
